RE: Holding tank drain valve....

You can buy valve lubricant that you just add to the tank contents. Camping world sells it as do most RV stores. Just follow the directions. In my experience it works well.

RE: First Year Retirees - Home This Winter, How About You?

When we retired we were home for two years, one to sell our house and one to make sure our new house could make it through it's first winter. It did and last year we headed to the RGV. With the winter we had here were we ever glad we did. We both lost spouses and when that happens it makes you more aware of not having tomorrow to count on. It's off to Texas again this winter. Life is short, live it up while you can. Congrats on your retirement. Sure is great whereever you are.

RE: Pressure Washer for Washing Motorhome

I've been using my pressure washer for years on my coach. I just stay away from the decals. I wet it down, spray on soap, let it stand for a minute & then wash it down. (section at a time). Wax it the same way, using the wax made for the pressure washer. I can wash & wax the coach in about 1 hr. (about 2 beers)!!

RE: Rust on bottom side of coach

I recently used POR (2 mos. ago) on a badly rusted propane tank. I can see pin pricks of rust again in some areas. Used it other places too & they look fine. so maybe I didn't get enuf on. Mostly pretty happy with it so far.

RE: Looking for feedback on CG's in and near Door Co Wisconsin

Hi,
Can't recall the name of the CG, but it is located in Carlsville, north of Sturgeon bay. It is right on Hwy 42. Very nice, large sites, all the amenities. Our FMCA local chapter, Badgers, have stayed there, & we've been there alone as well.
Peninsula state park is very nice as well, but almost impossible to get an electric site. We are 38' & can fit many sites easily.

RE: TV Conversion from CRT to Flat Screen

There was just an article on this subject in a magazine, complete with pictures. I just can't remember if it was Motorhome mag., or the FMCA mag. I believe it was last months issue. Sorry, I didn't save either one, so I'm not sure.

RE: Wisconsin Fall Rally - October 10th - 12th.

For ticks, just read dish soap on a cotton ball left on for a bit works. Don't know but would give it a try because the Tony, try to rip the sucker out of my back worked but wasn't fun.

RE: Any RGV Snowbirds going to FMCA rally??

We'll be there on Sunday, FMCA Ralley. Will be doing some driving of gulf carts for our Badgers' chapter. It was our first time in the valley last year and we loved it. Maybe we can meet up but won't be bringing our computer.

RE: Glass Tabletop

My glass tabletops scratch, so it would just be trading scratches to the glass tops. Sounds nice though.

RE: Added 2 ozs. of mineral oil to each house battery cell

There was a brand of battery on the market a few years ago, & they were very popular in new RV's. The brand name was Therm-oil ( I think). They were supplied as OEM batteries, but, with the cost of shipping they never could compete in the replacement market, as they did not have a national distribution presence. I had them in 2 coaches & they performed very well & stayed clean. I think they still sell their "oil" , but not batteries.
I just went to their website, makes interesting reading. Thermoil is one word.

RE: Cicadas...They're BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our year to have them was last year, unbelievable how one day there were a few and the next day everything was covered with them. They were sure noisy and did some damage to the trees but it was a neat experience.

RE: What is your 'Must stop places to eat in Wisconsin'.

Prairie du Chien has a couple good lunch spots, Eddie's and Simply's or go across the river to Mc Gregor, IA. Check out the onion rings at Old Man River or sit on the deck at Mr McGregor and have a beer and some pub fries as you watch the river traffic. Have a good trip.

RE: Anyone have a good Eggs Benedict Recipe?

For a different spin, try cheese sauce or sundried Alfredo sauce. Alfredo is easy because it comes in a jar. DH doesn't like Hollandaise.

RE: Power Gear Reservoir Tank Fell off

Yup, same thing happened to me. National had a bracket to fix the problem, available from a dealer. I made my own. The original bracket on mine had 2 slots with bolts through them. Metal fatigue ( I guess ) happened & the bracket broke at the slots. I drilled two holes down lower on the bracket & remounted it. Then put a metal strap under it, bolted elsewhere. So far, so good.
